A few weeks before Standard and Poor's May 7 publication of its new rating methodology for insurers, Managing Director Rodney Clark provided some background about the reasons for the change. In this interview, Clark also discusses the feedback S&P received in response to a draft of the methodology released for publication last year and a statement in the earlier draft indicating that the changes would have captured AIG's problems in 2008.
