Bob Parisi, managing director and cyber product leader for Marsh, recently spoke with Insurance Journal's Elizabeth Blosfield about the biggest lessons he believes the insurance industry can learn from last year's cyber attacks, which included WannaCry, Petya and NotPetya, among others. Parisi was a panelist at the 2018 PLUS Cyber Symposium in Chicago, Ill.

Although the events are still fresh in the industry's mind as it tries to wrap its mind around future preparation and recovery, he explained one important takeaway is to recognize that anyone can be hit by a cyber attack.

"When you look at how much technology is baked into everything that we do, you suddenly realize that this technology-driven risk is probably the biggest risk that companies face," he said.
