Capacity, reinsurance, new products, and legalization were not surprisingly among the topics a group of carrier executives mulled over during a discussion on cannabis insurance. Keith Distel, associate vice president of underwriting for AmTrust Financial Services, hosted a panel at Insurance Journal’s recent Insuring Cannabis Summit. His fellow panelists were Michael Hall, vice president of the cannabis department for Golden Bear Insurance Co., and Joseph Lyons, vice president of commercial lines underwriting for Conifer Insurance Co.
