The Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety turned to burning down a house to get across the message that it wants to drive "better behavior, better choices and better construction" to help reduce losses from wildfires. Roy Wright, CEO and president of IBHS, talked with Insurance Journal about a March demonstration in which the group simulated an active wildfire igniting a structure inside its massive test chamber in Chester County, S.C. Video shows a dramatic difference between a structure in which mitigation steps were taken to help prevent a fire catching and a structure without such protections.
