The competitive insurance market has led some standard markets into traditional excess and surplus lines business. Brent Tredway, regional director of CRC, told Insurance Journal at the recent Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association's annual conference that product liability, energy and even construction are seeing standard market carriers jump into the fray.
