Harford Mutual turns 175 years old in 2017, and is one of the oldest companies still operating in the United States. Its staff, however, is fairly young. About 1/3 of the insurer's 153 employees are millennials, a generational segment that insurers continue to struggle to attract to the industry. Harford President and CEO Steven Linkous, 49, explained to Carrier Management Editor Mark Hollmer how the insurer has successfully attracted younger employees, during the P/C Insurance Joint Industry Forum on Jan. 17.
