Kurt Karl, Swiss Re's chief economist, has a fairly optimistic view of the global economy. In the interview he notes that Europe and the U.S. are growing slowly, and, despite a slowdown in its growth rate, China's economy is "still robust." He does worry about a further slowdown in China, and the possible impact this could have on emerging markets. He also discusses interest rates, M&A activity and public/private cooperation for re/insurance coverage.
