In the days before Donald Trump was inaugurated as the United States' 45th president, industries and individuals alike wondered how the new leader would affect them.

Insurance insiders and executives interviewed by Carrier Management Editor Mark Hollmer earlier this year said they saw opportunity rather than problems ahead, based on Trump's perspective on issues including regulation and streamlining the tax system.

Here, we compile highlights of their comments, made in January during the Property/Casualty Insurance Joint Industry Forum in New York City.
