The medical professional liability market is experiencing game-changing trends. One of those trends has to do with the consolidation of the medical industry. Jack Meyer, chief marketing officer of the The Doctors Company, says the consolidation taking place in the medical community has a few consequences on insurance -- the most prevalent is the shrinking number of groups available to insure. As a result the insurance market has become very competitive, he says. Brokers will have to offer much more than just price going forward. In this interview from the PLUS Medical Professional Liability Symposium in Chicago, Meyer discusses consolidation and how the healthcare reform could alter claims going forward.
