Thanks to months of planning and the combined insight of more than 50 insurance industry leaders, the plan to revitalize the New York Insurance Exchange is poised to take a big step forward this fall. But there's still a lot to be done -- particularly behind the scenes. Leading the charge to build the exchange is an unnamed executive who is "well-known to the insurance industry and investment community," said Deputy Superintendent Mike Moriarty. The mystery man's immediate obstacle: build industry support, find $25 million in seed money and navigate a changing of the guard in Albany later this year.
