For all the hype over transparency and avoidance of conflicts of interest, most risk managers say they are not overly concerned with contingent commissions, as long as insurance brokers disclose them. At least, that's according to a new survey by professional services firm Towers Watson. The insurance industry's internal battle over the appropriateness of contingent commissions has some of the biggest brokers making major pronouncements that they will not accept the payments. And that's left agents and brokers revenue streams a little murkier than they were just a few years ago, says Towers Watson's Barry Franklin.
