In an exclusive interview with Insurance Journal's Ken St. Onge, Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance Jim Donelon, explains his views on whether or not a national catastrophe fund should be established, and if so, what it should look like. Donelon says while he would welcome some type of federal assistance for companies that provide property coverage in catastrophe prone areas, he is adamantly opposed to using that assistance as an excuse for removing regulatory oversight of the insurance industry from the states.
