Like a lot of agents, Quincy Branch reluctantly joined his dad's firm, which has grown into a successful Las Vegas-based agency. It was not his first career choice. But unlike most independent agents, Quincy is an African American. And since his dad was one of the pioneers of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), Quincy has a deep historical lens on diversity in the insurance industry. Today's discussions, he says, "are some of the same conversations we've had in the insurance industry for decades. It's time to stop talking about it and be about it. Put your money where your mouth is. The world is changing. It's not a pale, male and stale community. We are very diverse and blended." And once insurance professionals "really commit to diversity and inclusion, you'll get there." Quincy urges his fellow principals to see the business initiative behind D&I: "We're in the business of making money first." Please listen to this podcast; Quincy shares a lot of frank and helpful insight - especially on the awkward questions from your host!
