This is the first in a five‑part segment of an interview with insurance executive Hank Haldeman. Hank Haldeman is the son of H.R. "Bob" Haldeman, who was a central figure in the Nixon administration and the Watergate scandal.
Hank Haldeman was long-haired 15‑year‑old when his family moved to Washington and his father became chief of staff to President Nixon. In this segment of the interview, Hank Haldeman talks about what it was like to live near the White House and around powerful people. Was he restricted in what he could say and do? There were, as he recalls, very serious issues being discussed. There was also one very unforgettable trip on a presidential helicopter to Camp David.
