On May 5, 2014, a nonprofit industry coalition called ID Federation introduced SignOn Once, a software tool for agencies to securely access multiple carrier websites with a single logon. This is exciting news and you'll want to listen as independent agent and coalition supporter Steve Aronson, President of Aronson Insurance, outlines the significance of SignOn Once. The tool eliminates insecure "sticky note" password management and will save staff countless hours keeping passwords current, says Steve. Essentially, each agency employee will have one, highly secure identity that will be used among all carriers. ID Federation already has done the "heavy lifting" in technology and legal work, says Steve, and he encourages carriers, agents and vendors to take advantage of SignOn Once.
