In the past 20 years, a lot has changed in the insurance industry. What hasn't changed is the type of claim seen in the nonprofit sector. What has changed is how those claims are covered.
In this interview from the recent PLUS D&O Symposium, Insurance Journal's Andrea Wells asks Phil Norton, president of the professional liability division for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., about today's claims environment for the nonprofit directors and officers liability market.
Over the last two decades, coverage has broadened substantially, including the addition of entity coverage on small business and nonprofit D&O policies. But as claim severity ticks up, some markets are looking for added premium when it comes to entity coverage. In Norton's view, the coverage is well worth the money. Here's why.
