Here's an appalling statistic: All-female founders of startups received just 2.8% of all venture capital investment in the U.S. in 2019. And our podcast guest Jennifer Byrne is intent on improving this situation. She's co-founder and CEO of Quesnay, which helps accelerate entrepreneurs and innovation partnerships in financial services and insurance. Women actually start most businesses, Jenn says, but the funding hasn't been there, largely because the owners can't scale. Why? Lack of mentorships and connections - and, unlike their male counterparts, women typically want to create the perfect pitch, Jenn says. They're not satisfied with almost perfect. Quesnay's ecosystem includes some 700 women-led startups, from 60 countries, that are digitizing and transforming insurance. On this recording, Jenn offers advice particularly to female entrepreneurs on how to navigate the investment, partnership and growth worlds.
