The History of Crump

Crump celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2010!

Founded by E. H. Crump in 1920 in Memphis, TN, Crump grew to become the largest insurance agency in the southern U.S. Through acquisitions and growth, the company evolved during the latter half of the century. In 2005, private investors purchased Crump. In 2007, additional investment was made to purchase the retirement, life, and property/casualty insurance divisions of The BISYS Group. Today, Crump is the country’s largest wholesale insurance broker and a leading retirement services provider, offering customers a powerful combination of scale, diversity, financial sophistication, and management approach.
