Insurance Innovation: An Oxymoron?

Insurance innovation…is it an oxymoron? That was the provocative title of a panel at the Professional Liability Underwriters Society meeting in Chicago. One of the panelists, Leib Dodell, now with the new ThinkRisk Underwriting in Kansas City and formerly president and CEO of Media Professional Insurance, discusses why and how the insurance industry should embrace innovation.

    Innovation in insurance products, administration and financing is a missing mandatory agenda for the industry and it’s consumer recipients. I believe Dodell is in the vanguard.

    I agree with Monte. Lack of insurance innovation almost puts agents like myself at a huge disadvantage. Many of the millennials moving off their parents’ insurance do not want to be bothered by the tedious task of insurance when everything else is a click away.
