WSSLC Interview with Sherwood “Woody” Girion
Although the details of Spitzer broker compensation issues could not be disclosed at the time of the interview, Girion told Insurance Journal publisher Mark Wells the CDI is in the process of promulgating regulations. And state regulation is much more effective than federal regulation, Girion said.
On the topic of federal versus state regulations, Girion said there were a myriad of issues worthy of discussion. TRIA and aspects of federal regulation are discussed, with Girion championing a state bias toward regulation. One case in point is the CDI’s efforts to prevent insurance fraud, which puts large burdens on the insurance industry.
