WSSLC Interview with Dick Bouhan and Richard Polizzi

Bouhan was on the Western States Surplus Lines panel with representatives from the entire insurance industry. The panel dealt primarily with broker disclosure as a result of the Spitzer investigations. Panel consensus was mandatory disclosure should reside at the retail level.

Polizzi is the outgoing NAPSLO president. Under his tenure, NAPSLO solicited lobbying assistance, which is a big benefit when discussing regulation on the federal level. The new NAPSLO lobbyist has a lot of industry experience and is currently working effectively on surplus lines efforts.

NAPSLO’s September conference in San Francisco will host over 3,000 participants. George Will is the keynote speaker, and NAPSLO’s new lobbyist will speak about her role for 2006.
