The Illinois Insurance Department is no more, though most of the state’s agents may be unaware of the change, according to Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois‘ Chief Operating Officer Mike Tate. The department was consolidated into a super agency that will regulate a wide range of financial and professional services. Tate said he’s concerned consumers may be left for “road kill,” and addressed a number of other Illinois hot-button issues.
