InVESTing in the Industry

InVEST was founded in 1970 by a member agent of the Independent Insurance Agents of Los Angeles who was having trouble recruiting qualified employees with insurance knowledge. The first InVEST class at Hollywood High School began training students in insurance agency and company operations and encouraging them to pursue careers in the industry. Thirty-four years later, InVEST has grown to more than 235 programs in 30 U.S. states. Armitage conservatively estimates the program has seen more than 96,000 students. InVEST insurance training provides another possible career choice for high school and college graduates.
