P/C carriers will need to work on large scale overhauls of core underwriting, claims, pricing and policy systems this year--some in preparation for selling business insurance online, according to researchers at Deloitte. But even those carriers that aren't planning to launch direct sales platforms will be upgrading technology capabilities. Sam Friedman, research team leader at Deloitte's Center for Financial Services, explains the changes in this interview with Carrier Management's Susanne Sclafane.
